Leadership Award – $2,000

Description: This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated excellence in leadership roles in all aspects of life including their profession and church. The selected student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application below. 3.0 GPA or higher, resume of church involvement, a letter of recommendation from a pastor, and a short essay 300-500 words describing leadership experience.

Champion Award – $500

Description: If your passion is for championing the local church, this scholarship is for you. Tell us about your church involvement and desire to build the local church for a chance to receive our Champion Award. The selected student will receive a total of $500 for 1 year. Scholarship will be awarded $250 per semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Short essay of 300-500 words describing your involvement in and passion for the local church.

I Have A Dream Award – $500

Description:  This scholarship is offered to those students who have a dream to change the world and have a plan to get there. The selected student will receive a total of $500 for 1 year. Scholarship will be awarded $250 per semester.

Requirements:  Submit scholarship application. A 500-800 word essay describing your dream to change the world and how you plan to get there.

Designed For Life Women’s Award – $500

Description: This scholarship is offered to one female student who has a heart to inspire and empower women. The selected student will receive a total of $500 for 1 year. Scholarship will be awarded $250 per semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. A 300-500 short essay describing your passion and involvement in women’s ministry.

Left-Handed Award – $500

Description: Statistically, left-handed people tend to be more artistic! This scholarship allows you to prove the statistic right by showing us your artistic ability. The selected student will receive a total of $500 for 1 year. Scholarship will be awarded $250 per semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. A 300-500 short essay about your experience being left-handed, a portfolio of 3 of art projects in either graphic design, photography, video, drawing, painting, creative writing, or craft. Applicant must be left-handed.

Missionary Kid – $2,000

Description: This scholarship is offered to the children of missionaries currently serving the Assemblies of God. The student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester. This scholarship is offered to the children of missionaries currently serving the Assemblies of God.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application and provide credentials to verify that parents are active missionaries.

Pastor’s Kid – $2,000

Description: This scholarship is offered to the children of pastors currently serving the Assemblies of God. The student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application and provide credentials to verify that parents are active pastors.

Bridging The Gap Award

Description: This award is offered to those in need of extra financial assistance.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. A 300-500 word essay describing your financial situation and what steps you have taken so far to finance your education.
Due Date: Must be submitted after award letter has been received.

Church Matching

Description: This scholarship is available for students involved in church leadership. The church can contribute any amount. JRLC will match up to $500.

Practicum Scholarships

Preacher – $2,000

Description: The Preacher Scholarship exists to support students with a desire to lead churches through preaching and teaching the Word of God. The selected student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2
years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. A video or audio file of a sermon preached by the student or a written sermon. A letter of recommendation from a pastor. A 300-500 word short essay detailing your involvement within the church and experience in preaching and teaching the Word of God.

Worship Leader – $2,000

Description: The Worship Leader Scholarship is awarded to two students who believe their calling is to lead others in musical worship. Each student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit a recorded song performed by the student, a letter of recommendation from a pastor, a short essay of 300-500 words describing your involvement and passion for worship leading.

Musician – $2,000

Description: The Musician’s Scholarship is awarded to a maximum of four students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent. Each student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide a recording of student playing their instrument of choice, a letter of recommendation from a pastor or supervisor, and a 300-500 word short essay detailing your passion and involvement in worship ministry.

Graphic Design – $2,000

Description: The Graphic Design Scholarship is specifically for students passionate about multi-media design and how it can be used within the church. Each student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide a personal portfolio of up to 5 pieces of digital artwork and a letter of recommendation from a pastor or supervisor.

Film Maker – $2,000

Description: The Movie Maker Scholarship is specifically for students passionate about film making and video editing.  A maximum of 2 students will be awarded for their skill in cinematography and video editing. Each student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide a portfolio of 1-3 original motion picture projects and a letter of recommendation from a pastor or supervisor.

Photography – $2,000

Description: The Photography Scholarship is specifically for students passionate about photography and how it can be used within the church.  A maximum of 2 students will be awarded for their skill in photography. Each student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide 5-10 original photographs and a letter of recommendation from a pastor or supervisor.

Writer – $2,000

Description: The Writer Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate the ability to articulate clear/concise content in a passionate and creative manner of writing. A maximum of 2 students will be awarded for their skill in writing. Each student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide a sample blog post on preparing for college, an original poem, as well as a 100-200 word editorial description of JRLC.

Live Production – $2,000

Description: This scholarship will be awarded to one talented incoming freshmen with a passion for working behind the scenes to create the atmosphere of events. The student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. A letter of recommendation from a pastor or supervisor. A short essay of 300-500 words describing your passion for and experience in behind the scenes production work.

Children’s Pastor – $2,000

Description: The Children’s Leader Scholarship exists to support students with a desire to minister to infants and kids. One student will be awarded for their ability to minister to children. The student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide a letter of recommendation from a pastor and a 500-800 word short essay describing your love for and involvement in children’s ministry.

Youth Ministry – $2,000

Description: The Youth Leader Scholarship exists to support students with a desire to minister to youth. One student will be awarded for their ability to minister to youth. The student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. A letter of recommendation from a pastor. A 500-800 word short essay describing your passion for and involvement in youth ministry.

Social Butterfly – $2,000

Description: The Social Butterfly Scholarship is awarded to students who are passionate about building a strong online community and understands the importance of social media branding. One student will be awarded for their ability to effectively use social media. The student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide a short essay of 500-800 words describing your passion for building an online community, submit social media action plan for one JRLC social media platform detailing how you would manage content, engagement, and marketing.

Entrepreneur – $2,000

Description: The Entrepreneur’s Scholarship is awarded to the young visionary who aspires to impact the world for Jesus in the corporate setting. One student will be awarded for their skill in business. The student will receive a total of $2,000 over a period of 2 years. Scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application. Provide a write a short essay of 500-800 words describing what makes you an entrepreneur and a letter of recommendation.

Performance Scholarships

National Fine Arts – $500-$2,000

Description: Have you competed in National Fine Arts? Depending on your level of participation at the national level, you may be eligible to receive a scholarship for your achievements.

Requirements: Submit scholarship application, a certificate from Fine Arts with award listed. Student who is documented National Merit Award will receive a total of $2,000 over 2 years, scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester; National Level- Superior with Honors will receive a total of $1,000 over 2 years, scholarship will be awarded $250 each semester; or District Level- Superior with Invitation will receive a total of $500 over 2 years, scholarship will be awarded $125 each semester.

*One scholarship awarded, will redeem to the highest award received.

Academic – $2,000- $3,000

Description: Scholarship is awarded automatically to students who are eligible.

Requirements: Student who is documented with a Grade Point Average of a 3.76 or higher will receive $750 per semester of eligibility. Those students with GPA of 3.5 to 3.75 will receive $500 per semester of eligibility. Scholarship application is not applicable. JRLC will review official high school transcript for eligibility.



ACT – $2,000-$3,000

Description: Scholarship is awarded automatically for students who are eligible for ACT or SAT scores that range from 27 or higher (or 1220 or higher with SAT).

Requirements: Students who have a documented ACT/SAT score of 30/1400 or higher will receive a total of $3,000 over 2 years. The scholarship will be awarded $750 per semester. Student with an ACT/SAT between
27-29/1280-1380 will receive a total of $2,000 over 2 years. The scholarship will be awarded $500 per semester.Scholarship application is not applicable. JRLC will review ACT or SAT scores for eligibility.
